My name is Susie Talbot and I design and make all of the leather bags in my collection. From the cutting and stitching to edge dyeing and finishing the leather used in the straps and fastenings.

I spent 3 years living in Mull, in beautiful Tobermory, with my husband and our two children. We now live in Ribchester in the Ribble valley, which is where we grew up.

I work in my studio every day to hand-craft my bags, clutches and purses for both individual customer orders and for stockists in the Northwest of England and Scotland.

In addition to my studio where I work to produce my bags, last year I opened a little in-house ‘boutique’ where you can visit and see my full bag collection and a range of beautiful Captain Tortue French clothes. I hope to have created a friendly and relaxed shopping experience where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and have my full attention, whether with a group of friends or one-to-one.

I have a passion for Buying British, buying local and supporting local artisans by buying handmade.  As an experienced sewer I began hand-making my handbags 5 years ago after I tried myself to buy a British, handmade bag and struggled to find a leather one that was locally and beautifully made. So that gave me a passion to start my own business and use the skills that I had to create something that people would enjoy wearing  for many years

Each of my bags is carefully hand-stitched, using traditional methods or is machine stitched and secured with brass rivets for extra durability.

Whether in Italian leather or in tweed each bag is made from high quality materials. Leather from Tuscany, English tweed from Yorkshire, Scottish tweeds from the Isle of Mull and Harris in the Hebrides using British cast buckles and Metal hardware.

I make bags ranging from totes, cross-body bags, backpacks, work bags and laptop/ipad cases, clutches and co-ordinated purses. I also make a variety of men’s and women’s leather belts, dog leads and collars.
