Early in the morning at Holden Clough Nurseries there’s stillness, only the sounds of the birds twittering to each other and the occasional call of a pheasant somewhere in the woods. In the sunshine the plants are a mass of emerald green with hints of tantalising colour of newly emerging flowers dotted about here and there. All these plants are waiting to become part of a wonderful garden, where they will take on a new life and bring pleasure to any happy gardener.

The wide range of hardy plants grown by myself and Kate and the team have been tried and tested over many years in an area of Lancashire that certainly has its fair share of weather and so they are perfectly suited to the most challenging growing conditions.

At Holden Clough we are no strangers to change and have learnt to adapt and grow as people’s love of horticulture has grown. As a family business our love of all things green are at the heart of everything we do, and we understand that many people share our passion. Whether it is a lifelong calling or a new hobby, gardening is the something everyone can have a go at, and it’s a perfect way to enjoy the fresh air, stay active and reconnect with nature.

But at a time when it is not possible for people to come to the Nurseries, myself, Kate, and the team have decided to take the plants to the customers instead. We have put together The Garden Packs which include selections of plants such as Cottage Garden plants, Cut Flower Garden, Wildlife Friendly Plants, Hardy Pot Plants as well as many others. They are delivered with helpful printed guides of the Do’s and Dont’s of how to care for your plants and we are always on hand to answer any questions or help with tricky problems.
