Beautiful Fabrics.

Our best day out since opening Fabric & Fent in May 2018 was a trip to Abraham Moon & Sons Ltd in Guiseley, near Leeds. We decided to collect our first order of woollen fabrics and take a tour of the site and see the production techniques. Moon’s is the last woollen mill in England to take bales of New Zealand wool (it’s softer) through carding, dying, spinning, designing, weaving and finishing to a roll of fabric ready for furnishing or apparel. The only reason it has survived is passion, quality, depth of a local skill base and canny business sense. The current custodian at the helm, John Walsh, runs the business in a large, open office with all the teams, marketing, sales and production working in harmony with one common goal.

Moon fabrics now sell worldwide from New York to Shanghai and we are lucky to be an agent with all the fabric books and stock in our shop at 2c, Barnmeadow Lane, Great Harwood, BB6 7AB.

Established in 1837 the same principles of manufacture still apply. The machinery in place is well over 100 years old and it runs like clockwork running from end to end of the Mill shed. Bronte by Moon currently offers throws and cushion covers. These can all be ordered at our shop.

When you look through Moon fabric books, they just seem to get it right, the colours and blends are unique and you find yourself liking all of them. The most important test is to rub the fabric between thumb and finger and you can instantly feel the quality and heritage of this leading brand.

Georgia and Edward Dyson extend their welcome to visit us and discuss your projects, view all the range and most importantly let us quote competitively to realise your vision.
